Yes, it was Judson Memorial Church in NYC; I stayed with an intern on the church staff. (She's Jewish, single and pregnant; and has no furniture to speak of; at least no beds; four nights on a hardwood floor using my Esperanto Koran as a pillow the first two nights.) I attended Sunday morning worship there (in addition to the service at the Esperanto convention) and have to say it was a very uplifting experience. The pastor was out of town (or maybe in jail, I'm not sure; several of their members were in jail for some protest they'd been in at the United Nations building). She's clearly an interesting woman. Judson Memorial Church is a neighborhood church, dually aligned ABC/UCC, and its neighborhood is Greenwich Village (it faces right on Washington Square Park). Wonderful music, the whole congregation was choral. More hymnic than Brattleboro (I like hymns), they sang a new text to Ebenezer (Ton-y-Botel) and all five verses of the NCH-redacted "God of Grace and God of Glory", as well as some shorter pieces.
