Baptists in Ga 14th of Qanon and Marge T Green

I'll be out front looking for blog fodder hopeing William Thornton will weigh in from insights from the Christian Index and SBC Voices re the national attention of Ga 14. I will have to check the lines again to see if it includes Woodstock Ga, Cherokee County of Canton . I think not, I think it jigsaws left then goes up the Bama line and takes the chunk of Whitfield County and Dalton before it gets John Pierce hometown of Ringgold up near Chattanooga.

Down below rome and Berry College is Rockmart, home of Lamar Wadsworth who is embarrased and fighting Marge daily on his facebook wall.

And in Calhoun, home of Bert Lance of the Carter administration, also home of Charlie Culberson and the Lamb Brothers of Furman is, extraordinary HS Civics teacher Sean mcKenzie who had a piece in good faith media last week.

Nelson Price of SBC takeover fame hangs around the vicinity having been the leading force that flipped Shorter College to the Fundy side about ten years ago.

So all these elements are there. Particularly interested to see if AL Mohler's old Haunty the C Index is leaning one way or the other re Marge.

And just what CBF Churches are being prophetic or are they as struck mute as the 8 white ministers to whom King sent the letter from the Bham jail. Would love feedback on this matter.

Tom Edsall Today's NY Times on top of things

I've been acquainted with Edsall since a strong chat in Atlanata 86 at SBC. I havent talked to him however in at least three years.

The comments connected to this piece are fascinating.

One quote great, Conspiracy theories are powerful not for their rationale but for the passion they arouse.

There are a couple questions at the end for audience participation. Will be fascinating to see what the Times does with the responses.

about 45 comments in this chat including input from our own William Thornton.

Baptistnews.com had a piece up today which referenced the SBC Voices post and chat.

Adrian Rogers talked about the Tower of Babel at Jerry Vines West Rome in 79 to spur the takeover. i used to have the cassette tape.

Adrian's gone but his works follow him.

What did SBC Voices and Christian Index sign up for

Postby Stephen Fox » Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:06 am

Doesn't look like the same things, or maybe the things Starlette says she didn't sign up for

David Joy and Rick n bubba

Postby Stephen Fox » Sat Feb 06, 2021 11:19 am

I sent an email this morning to rick n bubba the syndicated Radio that is pretty much the voice of the Bama SBC. Sent it to a group hoping they will engage a conversation about Michelle Goldberg's column today Sat NY Times about how Q anon grew out of the demonization of Hillary Clinton and the Frazzledrip meme.

OTOH there is this I hope to discuss in the Clay County NC Progress, Hometown paper of George W. Truett

Librarians War against Q anon is insufficient

Postby Stephen Fox » Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:30 am

Evangelical literalists are predisposed toward Q World

Inside the head of Jennifer Wilkins of Collinsville Alabama, her familial connections to The SHED, as well as her network to Auburn University Living Democracy Project and Matthews Center for Civic Life should be a primo case Study.

And she calls herself a Librarian, saluted by former Bama Director of Libraries, the boss of Annie Lucas Brown, as doing so much with so little. Rebecca something was either the Directors name or her daughter.

Furman will have a zoom conference March 2 on all this. Aaron Simmons a native of Cleveland Tn will convene the conference of the Philosophy department. He is a grad of Lee College with PHD from Vandy.

I have notified him of the link above and the one on Librarians and alternative views of the world where everybody is his own research agent.
