On the original topic, I see that the Census Bureau is offering starting pay for census enumerators at $15/hr with more in certain areas or for those with experience. Guess that says what folks in Department of Commerce know about what it will take to get a workforce for the Census.

On the Census, the enumerator jobs in Georgia range from $13 - $24/hr. In my area, about $15. Go five miles towards Atlanta and the rate is around $20/hr. I'm not seeing why such a differential. These are 2-5 month temp jobs that require certain skills. I'd guess many minimum wage earners wouldn't have the skills.
Article in the AJC that uses, in part, one of Keith's original links. I'm satisfied for the west coast and some liberal municipal enclaves to experiment with doubling the minimum wage. The living wage is a different deal.

In case you have not heard amid all the news of today, the today.
It is a relatively slow increase that reaches $15/hr in 2025, with economic studies along the way.
And of course, McConnell will not likely allow this to be debated or voted on in the Senate.
Do not claim the Dems in the House are not doing anything but investigating Trump. Over 100 bills have been passed by this House but are awaiting Senate action.
