I spent ten minutes with the book today. Went to the index and there he was listed, WA Criswell for his Chiggerow presentation in Columbia SC to the preachers and then invited by Strom Thurmond to a joint session of the SC legislature
Most are aware Curtis Freeman of Duke wrote it up, Dirty Shirts from the Neck up or some such, a few years ago.
Stewart A Newman a mentor to James Dunn followed the Dallas preacher to the Preachers Podium and said "WA Criswell doesn't speak for me".
He told my Dad and myself the story explicitly in a Shoneys in Gaffney SC in 77, a top ten Baptist moment of my sojourn on the Earth.
And now Criswell gets the history he deserves in one of the most noted books of the year, in This Trump Issue Criswell foundationally ushered in.
